It has been determined that there were 66 new cases of the coronavirus on the quarantined ship docked at a Yokohama port. This prompts Japan to test every person aboard the Diamond Princess. According to The Japan Times, the passengers will be able to disembark after test results become available.

The New York Times reported that the ship is “host to the highest concentration of the coronavirus cases outside China.” “My whole thing is just to stay calm, because no matter what, I’m here. But every day it’s anxiety-provoking when we see the ambulances line up on the side of the ship” one passenger told the paper.

“Lots of the passengers now are getting a bit of cabin fever,” David Abel, a British passenger, said in a Facebook video. “Depression is starting to set in.”

According to The Guardian, Japan’s health ministry said medications had been delivered at the weekend to about half of the 600 people onboard who said they needed them. “The ministry has said the quarantine will stretch to February 19, although the World Health Organization said late on Sunday that the period could be extended ‘as appropriate’ for close contacts of newly confirmed cases,” the report added.
