America Is Under Attack

• America has ben constantly under attack since 9/11.
• Over 711 convicted terrorists have been caught since 2001.
• Over 380 of those suspects were from other countries.

Apparently, congressional data has been obtained that shows that hundreds of terror plots have been stopped in the U.S. since the 9/11 attacks. Most of which, have involved either foreign-born suspects or refugees.

Senators Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., and Ted Cruz, R-Texas, sent a letter to Obama back in 2014 which said: “[T]hese data make clear that the United States not only lacks the ability to properly screen individuals prior to their arrival but also that our nation has an unprecedented assimilation problem.”

The files that were obtained don't just show massive attacks on U.S. soil. They range from small one-man attacks to catastrophic events.

Some of the attacks on the list are:

• A refugee from Iraq who was arrested in January was accused of traveling to Syria to “take up arms” with terror groups.
• A man from Atlantic City was using his “Revolution Muslim” site to inspire confrontations with Jewish leaders at their homes.
• In Seattle, a man was planning to attack a military facility.

Unfortunately, the U.S. government was unable to predict and stop the attack in Orlando, that killed 49 people. It was, however, able to successfully stop and prosecute 580 individuals for terrorism, all within 2001 and 2014. Not only that but since 2014 131 individuals, maybe more, have been implemented in terror. The U.S. has clearly been under numerous amounts of attacks in 9/11.

From the 580 convicted from 2001 to 2014, and from the 131 implemented from 2014 to now, 40 were refugees.

Of the 580 that were convicted, 380 were foreign born. The majority were from Pakistan, Lebanon, Somalia, and the Palestinian territories.

The Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration and National Interest was the organization that compiled the information from the Justice Department. The information includes dates, countries of origin for foreign-born suspects, states of residence, and other details.

A drastic increase was documented in 2015, after the numerous amounts of arrest from people claiming allegiance to the Islamic State. Most of the arrests were coming from California, Texas, New York, Minnesota, as well as a few other states.

Cruz and Sessions say they are still missing critical information on certain suspects immigration history, that the Department of Homeland Security seems to be unwilling to provide.

In the letter to Obama in 2014, from Sessions and Cruz, they asked him to order the departments of State, Homeland Security and Justice to update and provide more information. Along with their letter to Barack Obama, they have reportedly sent numerous letters to each one of those departments asking the same thing.

“The administration refuses to give out the information necessary to establish a sound policy that protects Americans from terrorists,” Sessions told Fox News.

The Department of Homeland Security spokeswoman, Gillian M. Christensen, was asked about the complaints from the Senators and said that they,  “will respond to the senators’ request directly and not through the press. More than 100 Congressional committees, subcommittees, caucuses, commissions, and groups exercise oversight and ensure accountability of DHS and we work closely with them on a daily basis. We’ve received unprecedented requests from a number of senators and representatives for physical paper files for more than 700 aliens.”

In 2014 a report came out which cited the Human Rights Watch in saying that nearly half the counterterrorism convictions that were done by the federal government came from informant based cases.

“In some cases,  the Federal Bureau of Investigation may have created terrorists out of law-abiding individuals by conducting sting operations that facilitated or invented the target’s willingness to act.”

Whatever the case may be, it is clear that America is not safe, and is constantly under attack.
