The recent projection is part of a series of nightly projections by artist Gerry Hofstetter. The projected images would shine from 10 p.m. to midnight local time in Zermatt. “It aims to spread hope and unity during the worldwide coronavirus outbreak,” said Fox News.

According to Zermatt Tourism, Hofstetter has been transforming buildings, monuments, and landscapes worldwide into temporary art objects since 1999.

“As it stands, the USA is the country that has been most impacted by the COVID-19 crisis with the highest number of confirmed cases,” the company said. “Our thoughts are with all American people at this unprecedented time,” it then said.

“May our message convey solidarity and give you hope and strength. We look forward to meeting again at the foot of the Matterhorn. We are all in this together.”

“Never lose hope in these difficult times and orient yourself to the light of the Matterhorn,” Zermatt Tourism said, referring to the “#hope” illumination.
