Biden Blunder: Slammed For Saying ‘We Have Over 120 Million Dead from COVID’
Joe Biden is being slammed by Republicans after the presidential nominee made a mistake during a campaign stop in Pennsylvania. Biden said 120 million people had died from the novel coronavirus.
“People don’t have a job, people don’t know where to go, they don’t know what to do,” Biden said. “Now we have over 120 million dead from COVID.”
However, Johns Hopkins figures say that there have been more than 122,000 COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. as of Thursday.
Fox News reported that while the nominee appears to immediately catch himself after his mistake, “the pool video of Biden’s comments cuts off after he made the remark,” and Republicans were quick to jump on his comment.
Steve Guest, the Republican National Committee’s rapid response director, tweeted a link to the clip with the caption, “WHAT IS GOING ON WITH JOE BIDEN?”

President Trump’s reelection campaign team called Biden “very confused.”
“Joe Biden is very confused. He just falsely claimed 120 million Americans (more than one-third of the country) died from the coronavirus. This is after he previously claimed 150 million Americans died from guns. He's not playing with a full deck, folks. #BarelyThereBiden,” the campaign tweeted.
Trump also tweeted about Biden, saying: “If I ever said something so mortifyingly stupid, the Fake News Media would come down on me with a vengeance.”
“This is beyond a normal mistake,” Trump added. “Why isn't the media reporting it?” he also said.
In an appearance on Fox News, Trump told Sean Hannity that the mistake was “not a permissible type of error.”
“That's not a permissible type of error, because there's something going on,” Trump said.
