Bill Clinton Offers Impeachment Advice to Trump

In a rare move, Former President Bill Clinton took a few minutes out of his day to make a little sense.

CNN’s Jack Tapper was conducting a phone interview with Clinton, who was impeached in 1998, and asked whether he had any advice on handling the current impeachment drama facing Trump.

“My message was – would be: look, you got hired to do a job,” Clinton answered. “You don’t get the days back you blow off. Every day is an opportunity to make something good happen. And I would say, ‘I’ve got lawyers and staff people handling this impeachment inquiry, and they should just have at it. Meanwhile, I’m going to work for the American people.’ That’s what I would do.”

Of course, it’s more than a little hypocritical for Clinton to say so, but perhaps his hindsight is better than his foresight:

“At some point, you know, denial is no longer an option.”

Clinton was the most recent US President to face an impeachment inquiry.

That one was successful, with Clinton found guilty of perjury and obstruction as relating to his extramarital affair with (and abuse of power over) then 22-year-old intern Monica Lewinsky.

So far, Trump has been vocal about the impeachment hearings

But as things progress, it’s becoming more and more obvious he might as well listen to Clinton’s advice by ignoring it entirely.

After all, the Democrats’ star witness made an absolute fool of himself with his bumbling testimony.

As ex-Attorney General Jeff Sessions recently pointed out

“President Trump has not been accused of anything for which he can be credibly impeached, but the dangerous ideology of the far left does not recognize legal limits or fundamental fairness.”

Even CNN Chief Legal Analyst Jeffrey Toobin agrees there’s no evidence to support the call for impeachment.

Speaking of acting Ambassador to Ukraine William Taylor and State Department official George Kent, Toobin admitted

“The one criticism of these two witnesses, which I think is very much legitimate – it’s not really a criticism, it’s a factual statement, is that neither of them had direct contact with the president… ever.”

Ultimately, everything the Democrats are trying to use against Trump is nothing but second- and third-hand hearsay.

It’s not worth Trump’s time getting involved anymore.

Instead of letting the Democrats win by distracting him from the great work he’s been doing for our country, the president should just let them continue to embarrass and discredit themselves.

Without any admissible evidence, they’re just helping ensure 2020 will see another Republican win.
