Where’s Brandon? Over 720 Migrants Caught per Day Near Texas Border

Border Patrol agents from Del Rio are apprehending migrants who are illegally crossing the border into Texas at a rate of around 720 daily, according to officials. This rate made the Del Rio Sector at the top of the list of migrant apprehensions for January, as per a CBP official.

Chief Patrol Agent Jason D. Owens of Del Rio Sector posted images on Twitter showing agents apprehending huge numbers of migrants over the weekend. The post included a report that shows the agents apprehending migrants at a daily rate of 720.

Apart from the apprehensions, Border Patrol agents also carried out eight migrant rescues stopped 36 smuggling attempts that resulted in 145 arrests. They also stopped two sex offenders from entering the U.S.

The surge in migrant apprehensions in the past five weeks made Del Rio the busiest of all the southwest Border Patrol sectors, as per a source operating under the umbrella of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. Owens also said that some stations within the said sector are facing an increase of 350 percent of the same period back in 2021, as per Breitbart Texas.
