“It is not going good,” wrote 8-year-old Ben about his mother’s attempt at homeschooling during the coronavirus pandemic.

“My mom’s getting stressed out. My mom is really getting confused. We took a break so my mom can figure this stuff out. And I’m telling you it is not going good.”

Candice Hunter Kennedy, Ben’s mother, shared a photo of the journal entry on Facebook with the caption: “Y’all I’m dying!!!. This is Ben’s journal entry from Monday about our first ‘homed school’ day. That last sentence . #WVNTI #imgettinthehangofitnow #maybe #kidsseeeverything #8yearoldcalledmeout

Kennedy’s post is going viral as thousands of Facebook users found it “so funny.”

“Boy did I need that laugh! Thanks Ben! I homeschooled my kids for a few years…it’s hard work! Hang in there!” said one Facebook user.

“Absolutely some of the funniest honesty from a child. Mom is a good sport and recognized her son's comedic genius! Love it.” said another.

Fox News explains that “Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear initially recommended the closure of schools in the state on March 12 in a bid to slow the coronavirus outbreak.”

“All districts soon complied, with plans to shut down for at least two weeks, per the Louisville Courier-Journal,” said the report.

Kennedy knew that homeschooling was going to be difficult from the start. On March 16th, she posted on Facebook: “We are 39 minutes into [non-traditional instruction]. Papers are everywhere. Kids are panicking. I am stress-eating while trying to keep it together so the kids can’t see my own panic. Teachers need triple raises ASAP!!
