Canadian hostage John Ridsdel has been executed by a terrorist group in the Philippines that has claimed support by both ISIS and Al Queda. His severed head was found in a plastic bag along the streets of Jolo. Ridsdel was captured along with 3 others, including fellow Canadian Robert Hall, taken from a southern Philippine island luxury resort in September.

The other hostages are Norwegian Kjartan Sekkingstad and Filipino Marites Flor.

John Ridsdel's severed head was found in a plastic bag in the southern Philippines on Monday by Philipino police. This was after the group's ransom demands of $8 million had not been paid. The terror group had given the Canadian government until Monday, April 25th to pay the Ransom.

The terror group known as Abu Sayyaf have claimed the kidnapping and beheading. Their goal is for a private Islamic state within the Philipines

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was outraged by the execution saying “This was an act of cold-blooded murder and responsibility rests solely with the terrorist group that took him hostage.” Tredeau pledged “to pursue those responsible for this heinous act.” He also stated that the lives of all Canadians are a top priority.

John Ridsdel, 68, was a semi-retired journalist and A former mining executive.
