Breaking News: American University Of Afghanistan Under Attack

• A car bombing just exploded outside a school located next to the University of Afghanistan.
• After the bombing, guns were fired at the campus of the University.
• Students and teachers have sheltered themselves inside of classrooms and are said to be safe.
• No casualties have been reported yet.

Explosions and gunfire are enveloping the American University of Afghanistan in what police authorities are describing as a “complex attack.”

Reporters in the area said that teachers, as well as hundreds of students, took shelter in their classrooms. Police and special forces are currently surrounding the facility, which is located on the outskirts of Kabul.

The first part of the attack was a car bomb that went off outside a school for the blind, which is next door to the University. A woman on campus said, “I heard an explosion and some gunshots, but the attack is finished.” She said this to Fox News by telephone.

So far, no information on how many people are dead or injured is known but ambulances were seen leaving the area.

The police, at this time, believe there was only one attacker. No information is known about the attacker, if he was caught, or if he is still at large.

This isn't the first time the University has been subject to attack. On August 7th, two professors from the University, Kevin King and Timothy Weeks were abducted by men in military attire. The two professors have yet to be found. So far there is no correlation between the abductions and this attack but authorities are keeping every possibility open.
