Donald Trump Wins Big With Last Minute Endorsements
- “America's toughest sheriff” Joe Arpaio is headed to Iowa to support Donald Trump.
- In addition to Arpaio, Trump was also endorsed by Jerry Falwell, Jr. and John Rocker on Tuesday.
- With just days until the Iowa caucus, all the candidates are doing everything they can to get any last-minute endorsements that might swing the state in their favor.
Arizona’s colorful Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio today threw his weight behind businessman Donald Trump for president.
The law enforcement figurehead appeared with the Republican 2016 frontrunner at a Marshalltown, Iowa, rally Tuesday, citing Trump’s hard-line stance on immigration as the reason for his endorsement.

“Donald Trump is a leader. He produces results and is ready to get tough in order to protect American jobs and families,” Arpaio said in a statement. “I have fought on the front lines to prevent illegal immigration. I know Donald Trump will stand with me and countless Americans to secure our border.”
Arpaio, who’s been dubbed “America’s toughest sheriff,” is a Trump of sorts in his home state of Arizona — known for his blustery statements about illegal immigration, protestations about President Barack Obama’s birth certificate and for consistently signaling that he plans to run for governor.
