Filming of “Jurassic World: Dominion” Pauses Following Positive COVID-19 Results
The shooting of the latest installment of the “Jurassic World” franchise, “Jurassic World: Dominion,” at Pinewood Studios in the United Kingdom has been suspended for two weeks on Wednesday. This happened following positive results of COVID-19 tests.
“Woke up to the news we had a few positive Coronavirus tests on Jurassic World: Dominion. All tested negative shortly after, but due to our safety protocols we’re going to pause for two weeks. Back soon,” Director Colin Trevorrow wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.
According to a spokesperson for Universal Pictures, they found out about the positive results on Tuesday evening. Everyone then received a negative test result on Wednesday morning.
The official Jurassic World accounts gave more details. They said they found out “that the Jurassic World: Dominion production experienced a small amount of positive tests for COVID-19. Even though subsequent tests proved negative this morning, due to our rigid protocols and to ensure that the safety & well-being of our entire cast & crew is paramount at all times, those who initially tested positive are currently self-isolating, as are those who they have come into contact with.”
“As a result filming has been temporarily paused & will resume in accordance with established safety guidelines,” it also added.
