Kamala Harris Faces Bipartisan Twitter Backlash Over “Abortion Rights” Post

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris is facing a rare attack from both Republicans and Democrats after posting about fighting for abortion “rights” on Twitter on Friday night.

Harris posted an image of herself on her Twitter account, showing herself watching the coverage of news outlet CNN regarding pro-choice protests while she’s on Air Force 2.

“I know there are women out there who are afraid. To those of you who feel alone and scared: I want you to know the President and I are fighting for you and your rights. We are in this fight together,” Harris wrote in the caption accompanying her photo.

Following the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade, numerous pro-choice protests have broken out all over the country, with riots happening in several major cities.

Twitter Users Slam Harris' Tweet

While several other Democratic leaders denounced the Supreme Court’s decision, many liberals on Twitter criticized Harris’ tweet as being too ambiguous and meaningless.

“Could you be specific? Like, *how* are you fighting? Describe the tactics, explain the policy, give us the rundown,” Hillary Kelly, a contributor for New York Magazine, wrote.

Meanwhile, actor James Urbaniak jokingly said, “I want you to know: we are watching TV.”

“Um. 36,000 feet above everything, watching on a big a– TV in a private plane, and the message is ‘we're in this together’? I'm not sure you guys get where the rest of us are at right now,” Joan McCarter of Daily Kos also posted.

Back in 2021, court documents revealed that the vice president colluded with abortion providers while working on a gase against David Daleiden, a pro-life journalist, while she was serving as California’s attorney general.

Meanwhile, back in May, Harris had a virtual meeting with abortion providers at the White House to talk about the possible impact of overturning Roe v. Wade.
