Heidi Cruz spoke out today after front-runner Donald Trump threatened to “spill the beans” on her, saying she’s “not worried in the least” about what he has to say.

“You probably know by now that most of the things that Donald Trump says have no basis in reality,” the wife of Sen. Ted Cruz said in a rare solo press conference in Waukesha, Wisconsin.

“So we are not worried in the least and focusing on our campaign,” she said, “and we are going to continue to do that.”

The ad featuring a nearly nude photo of Melania Trump that prompted Trump’s tweet was run by an anti-Trump Super PAC called Make America Awesome, not the campaign, Heidi Cruz pointed out.

“A lot of the things that are done from time to time are not from our campaign,” she said. “And so I want you to focus on what our campaign puts out.”

In an interview today, Ted Cruz told CNN that Trump’s tweet about Heidi “should be beneath Donald,” but was a response to his loss in Utah last night.

“So last night, Donald threatened my wife. He went directly after my wife,” Cruz told Cuomo. “And I gotta tell you that, number one, Heidi, my wife, she’s the daughter of missionaries in Africa, she’s my best friend in the world, and if Donald wants to get in the character fight, he’s better off sticking with me cause Heidi is way out of his league.”

Heidi Cruz added that her message to female voters in Wisconsin and the rest of the country is that Ted Cruz has been running a hopeful, optimistic campaign.

“What I think most women want is a better future for their children, and that’s what I want and it’s why Ted and I are running,” she said.
