On Tuesday, House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy appeared in an interview with Fox News, vowing to remove Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) from her committee position if the Republicans reclaim House majority in the next election cycle.

McCarthy’s comments came as a response to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-CA) seeming inaction against Omar’s consistent anti-Semitic and anti-American statements,

In the interview, McCarthy promised that if the GOP takes back the majority in the House, Omar would be stripped of her Foreign Affairs position, nor will anyone whose views are anti-Semitic and anti-American.

Last week, Omar compared the U.S. to terror groups Hamas and Taliban, stating that the country has also done similar “atrocities.”

Omar said the U.S. needs to have the “same level of accountability and justice for all victims of crimes against humanity.”

Omar added that people have seen “atrocities committed by the U.S., Hamas, Israel, Afghanistan, and the Taliban.”

After receiving scrutiny for her statement, Omar released a “clarification,” in which she said she didn’t intend to make a “moral comparison” between such terrorist organizations and the U.S.
After this, Speaker Pelosi praised Omar for clarifying things up, adding that they will not need any more disciplinary action.

However, not all of the Democratic members of the House were satisfied by this clarification. Last Wednesday evening, a dozen members of the Democratic Party released a statement that scrutinized Omar for her comments.
