Marine Fired From Police In West Virginia For NOT Shooting A Man

The above video shows you how a cop, Stephen Mader,  was fired from his job in West Virgina for not shooting a suspect and allegedly putting his other officer's lives in danger. However, what it doesn't tell you is that Stephen Mader is a highly decorated Marine who worked with a bomb-sniffing dog to detect and disarm explosives in the middle east.

Stephen Mader is no stranger to intense situations or people wanting to kill him, but he was fired for deescalating one when he could have instead simply shot and killed a black man in his home. You would think this would be a story that every police department would want, but instead, they chose to fire him.

Mader, who is 24 and a new father, showed up on the scene to find Ronald “RJ” Williams, Jr, a 23-year-old black man who was also a new father, severely depressed and suicidal. Williams held an unloaded gun and begged Mader to kill him. Instead, Mader showed restraint, compassion, and the kind of calm that can only be learned in a combat zone, and for it all, he was fired.

All I know is every time I call the cops I want a calm, professional Marine like Mader to show up and show the restraint, understanding, and intelligence that he had showed that day. There would be a lot less protests in this country if we had more men and women like him on our police forces. Unfortunately, we now have one less.
