Florida Representative Matt Gaetz is currently under investigation over alleged sex trafficking. The representative reportedly likes showing off images of women he slept with. Multiple sources said Gaetz likes to brag about sexual conquests to colleagues.

Nude Photos and Videos

Allegedly, Rep. Matt Gaetz likes to show off to other lawmakers photos and videos of nude women he slept with. Also, he reportedly likes talking about his experiences of having sex with women. A source described one of the photos as a naked woman with a hula hoop. “It was a point of pride,” one source described it.

Meanwhile, the 38-year old Florida lawmaker continues to claim innocence over the accusations. Federal officers are investigating whether Gaetz engaged in a relationship with a woman who was 17 years old at the time. In addition, officials are checking if his involvement with the woman (and several others) broke federal laws by transporting them out of state.

Matt Gaetz Denies All Allegations

Gaetz strongly denied the allegations against him. The embattled representative insists that he never did anything wrong. In addition, Gaetz also said a former DOJ official is running an extortion attempt on him, which the FBI is also investigating.

“Over the past several weeks my family and I have been victims of organized criminal extortion involving a former DOJ official seeking $25 million while threatening to smear my name. We have been cooperating with federal authorities in this matter and my father has even been wearing a wire at the FBI's direction to catch these criminals,” Gaetz said in a statement.

Support from Fellow Republicans

After news of the DOJ investigation broke, a number of Congressional Republicans came out to defend their colleague. This includes Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH), the top Republican on the House Judiciary Committee. In addition, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) also showed her support. However, many House Republicans chose to distance themselves from the issue and stayed quiet.

Meanwhile, House Minority leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) said that the situation can cause“serious implications” to Gaetz. McCarthy said that if the charges stick, he will have to remove Gaetz from the Judiciary Committee. “I haven't heard anything from the DOJ or others, but I will deal with it if anything comes to be true,” said the Republican House leader.

Staunch Conservative

Gaetz made a name for himself on conservative television when he arrived in Congress in 2017. He immediately aligned himself with the Freedom Caucus, annoying the Republican leadership. Despite being a relative newcomer, Gaetz often showed up on both Newsmax and Fox News. Before his federal investigation surfaced, Axios reported Matt Gaetz is considering leaving Congress. Reports said Gaetz wants to work for conservative television outlet Newsmax.

In addition, Matt Gaetz is also one of the most vocal supporters of former President Donald Trump. After some Republicans voted to impeach Trump, Gaetz tried to oust the House's GOP conference chair. In fact, he traveled to House GOP Chair Rep. Cheney’s home state of Wyoming to hold a rally against her.
