During her first solo campaign appearance of the year on Tuesday, first lady Melania Trump criticized Joe Biden’s “socialist agenda.”

“Joe Biden attacked Trump’s decision to close travel from China. He called it ‘xenophobic hysteria.' Now he suggests that he could have done a better job,” the first lady said in front of supporters in Atglen, Pennsylvania.

She added that Americans “can look at Joe Biden’s 36 years in Congress and eight years in the V.P. and determine if he will be able to finally get something done for the American people.”

Melania Trump also slammed Democrats during the campaign for putting their “own agenda” ahead of the country’s welfare.

“Let us also not forget what the Dems chose to focus on when the pandemic entered our country. The Dems were wasting American taxpayer dollars in a sham impeachment. They cared more about removing our elected president,” Trump said.

Before she left Washington, a post appeared on her Twitter account: “Looking forward to visiting the beautiful state of Pennsylvania today,” the tweet read. “The people of that great state know President @realdonaldtrump will always fight to keep Americans safe, secure, & prosperous.”

USA Today explains that Trump has been “off the campaign rally circuit since last summer,” partially due to her confinement to the White House for months due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and partially “due to her reluctance to make speeches at mass rallies.”
