A Mississippi man and his son were killed in a Saturday afternoon shootout in their gun shop in a dispute with two customers, another man, and his son, over a $25 fee.

The Sun Herald reported the owner's wife was working at McLemore Gun Shop in Pearl River County, Miss. when Audy McCool, 52, and his son Michael, 29, came in to pick up a firearm they had repaired.

WDSU reported the McCools was told the firearm wasn't ready yet, and that they owed a $25 service fee.

This angered the gun owner, and the woman working in the shop called her husband to help diffuse the situation. The shop owner, Jason McLemore, arrived shortly after and brought along his son.

The disagreement only escalated, however.

“During this argument, we believe there might have been some pushing and shoving,” Chief Deputy Shane Tucker told the newspaper. “One of the customers and one of the owners produced firearms.”

McLemore, 44, and his 17-year-old son, Jacob, were killedWLOX reported.

Michael McCool, 29, is accused of shooting both victims with a 40-caliber pistol.

Both McCools suffered life-threatening injuries.

No criminal charges have been filed yet.

Updated with victims' names at 3:32 p.m.
