NBC News Announces Third GOP Presidential Debate in Miami
The third Republican primary debate will take place in Miami, according to NBC News' announcement made on Monday.
The event is scheduled to take place on November 8 at Miami-Dade County's Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. It will start airing at 8 o'clock. to 10 p.m. on NBC News' streaming services, digital platforms, and television channels, including NBCNews.com.
The network specified in its official announcement that the moderators and the format would be made public later.
The second debate, held in California last month, featured seven candidates, according to Breitbart News.
Despite the onstage lineup, more Republican primary activity took place thousands of miles away in Michigan's upper rust belt, where GOP frontrunner and former President Donald Trump hosted an event with striking autoworkers one day after incumbent Democrat President Joe Biden crossed the picket line there.
Trump, who continues to lead in the polls, also made the decision to skip the opening debate.
Nikki Haley, Ron DeSantis, Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), Vivek Ramaswamy, former Vice President Mike Pence, former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum were among the speakers in October.
The Republican National Committee has increased the polling and donor thresholds for the third contest, making it unclear how many will qualify again this time.
Candidates must have at least 70,000 different donors contribute to their campaigns for them to be eligible. Additionally, they have to meet the RNC's polling requirements by registering at least 4% in two national polls, one national poll, and one early-state poll.
Candidates who meet the requirements must also promise to back the eventual GOP nominee.
