Democratic California Gov. Gavin Newsom is now demanding non-citizens free healthcare.

According to a report by Fox News, Newsom has proposed universal healthcare for every low-income resident of California. This includes the illegal immigrants residing within the state. The governor made the demand on Monday when he unveiled his 2022-23 state budget.

At a press conference, the governor revealed his California Blueprint plan worth $213 billion. This will be backed by a surplus worth $45.7 billion. Included in the plan is a proposal for a measure that expands health care coverage to every low-income resident of the state, regardless of immigration status.

Newsom said: “Here’s the big one: California is poised to be if this proposal is supported, the first state in the country to achieve universal access to health coverage. So, what does that mean? It means full-scope Medi-Cal, including long-term care, IHSS [In-Home Supportive Services], and behavioral health to all low-income Californians, regardless of immigration status.”

Apart from this, Newsom also tweeted: “Unlike other states, California is EXPANDING ACCESS to abortion services.
Our new CA Blueprint expands flexibility for providers so more women can have more access to reproductive care.”
