Gavin Newsom Accuses Ron DeSantis with ‘Kidnapping’ Migrants

California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) accused Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) of “kidnapping” 16 migrants who were reportedly transported from New Mexico to Sacramento, California, without prior planning.

The Los Angeles Times reported, “The 16 migrants from Venezuela and Colombia were initially transported by bus from El Paso to New Mexico, where they boarded the flight to Sacramento, officials said. They were dropped off at the doorstep of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Sacramento on Friday.”

On Saturday, California Attorney General Rob Bonta released a statement accusing the state government of Florida of being behind the transfer of migrants who had crossed the border in Texas.

Since President Joe Biden took office, millions of migrants have crossed the border, many of them illegally. Texas has a policy of relocating some migrants to other states and cities, often “sanctuary cities” run by Democrats.

Florida has also moved migrants who were previously put there. In November, DeSantis dispatched a planeload of migrants to Martha's Vineyard, an offshore sanctuary where members of the Democratic Party elite live. Despite the proliferation of political billboards inviting immigrants to the nation, the island was unable to absorb the migrants and transported them to a shelter on a mainland military installation within 24 hours.

Newsom, who spends a lot of time on social media mocking conservative governors, particularly DeSantis, accused DeSantis of kidnapping on Monday, despite the fact that there is no proof DeSantis was involved:

Newsom, who left California for a vacation in Mexico during severe blizzards earlier this winter, did not address the underlying migrant issue or California's generous aid programs toward illegal aliens.

According to the Times, California officials have yet to reveal evidence confirming Florida's involvement; the migrants never reached Florida.
