Not Surprising: Poll Shows Majority Do Not Trust Biden Taking Care of Terror Threats
According to the results of a new poll, a majority of Americans who can vote do not believe President Joe Biden is competent enough to address terror threats.
The results of a recent Rasmussen poll rolled out on Monday. It revealed that only 30 % of possible U.S. voters expressed their confidence in Biden’s ability to deal with terrorism in the country.
Meanwhile, 16% somewhat believe in Biden, 14% said they were not that confident, while 40% said they didn’t have confidence in Biden at all with regards to addressing terror threats.
The results of the poll had a level of confidence at 95%, and it has a margin of sampling error of +/- 3 points. It was conducted by Rasmussen Reports among 1,000 likely voters from April 29 to May 2. The polling took place online or over the phone.
The said survey asked five questions. The first one asks respondents how closely they follow recent news reports regarding terrorism in the country. The second asks the likely voters what they think is the greater threat to the country between foreign and domestic terrorism.
The survey also asked for their opinion on whether terror threats went up or down since Biden took office. It then asked about how confident they are that the president is capable of dealing with terrorist threats.
Lastly, it asked respondents whether they thought the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol was an act of terrorism.
The poll, also revealed that most of its respondents saw domestic violence as a bigger threat.
The poll also saw that the possibility of Democrats concluding this is at 70%, while for Republicans, it’s at 42%. For independents, the likelihood is at 61%, as per Newsmax.
The report also mentioned that Republican respondents were two times more likely to say that the threat of terrorism had gone up compared to Democrats.
Additionally, 48% of the respondents believe the threat went up since Biden was inaugurated. Meanwhile, 29% believe it remained the same. Only 14% thought it had gone down.
With regards to the Capitol riot as an act of terrorism, the survey respondents seem to be split.
The poll revealed that 46% of them see it as a terrorist act, while 45% believe the opposite.
