Dating platform OkCupid has a new update. Users can now show their support for Black Lives Matter with a designation profile badge.

“Change starts with conversation,” OkCupid said in a blog post. “And the Black Lives Matter movement is driving some of the most important conversations of our time,”

“As a place that fosters connection and conversation, OkCupid is committed to supporting the movement and helping our users connect over their shared support as well,” the blog post added.

When users log in, they can answer the question, “Do you want to support the #BlackLivesMatter movement by adding a badge to your profile?” If the user answers yes, the hashtag will appear on his/her profile together with a black heart.

OkCupid has also added a series of match questions about racial equality and social justice. These questions include “Do you protest to fight inequality?”, “How will you address racial inequality?”, and “Is it important that your date fights for racial justice?”

OkCupid's Stand

According to the blog post, “the vast majority of OkCupid respondents said it is not acceptable to silently support racial equality.”

OkCupid also mentioned that they are donating $1 million in advertising space on OkCupid to Black civil rights organizations.

“These amazing non-profits deserve a space to be heard, and if we can help in even a small way, we’re honored to do that,” they said in the blog post.

According to Fox Business, OkCupid has also provided users an outlet for civil rights and social justice causes in the past. They have previously given users the option of placing badges on their profile. Some examples of these badges include #IStandWithPP and #RightToLove.
