Pelosi Feels “Very Confident” That Biden Will Win; Warns Americans That Sending Absentee Ballots in the Mail Now Is Too Late to Get Them Counted
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said she feels “very confident” that Joe Biden will win. She also warned about sending absentee ballots now as it is too late.
“I feel very confident that Joe Biden will be elected president on Tuesday,” Pelosi said at a news conference at the Capitol.
“On Jan. 20, he will be inaugurated president of the United States. So, while we don't want to be overconfident or assume anything, we have to be ready for how we're going to go down a different path.”
Pelosi also mentioned that Democrats have a science-based approach against the virus.
“We are confident. We are calm. And we are prepared. We are ready,” Pelosi said about the election.
More than this, the House Speaker warned Americans to no longer send their absentee ballots in the mail. She said it is too late to get the votes counted.
“I hope that people will not depend on the mail because they have done all they can to dismantle the postal system,” Pelosi said. “I salute our postal workers and letter carriers and those who are making the best of the situation, but even the Postal Service is saying it's too late now to mail a first-class piece of mail.”
She suggested that voters vote in person or drop off their ballots at designated locations.
