Police Arrest Ex-NFL Player was Caught Beating his Ex-Girlfriend in front of Child
Police in Orlando, Florida, arrested Zac Stacy, a former New York Jets running back, following reports that he brutally beat his ex-girlfriend right in front of their 5-month-old son.
The police made the arrest on Thursday following Stacy’s purported attack on Kristin Evans, which allegedly took place over the weekend.
The incident reportedly happened at Evans’ home on Saturday, when the former Jets running back allegedly showed up to visit their son.
Stacy was captured on home surveillance video, flying into a fit of rage and beating a woman up, who was later identified as Evans.
During the attack, Stacy was seen to throw the woman against a television.
Police say that Stacy reportedly “struck [her] on the right side of her head, and picked her up and threw her against the television, causing it to crack and fall over.”
“He continued yelling at her and striking her while she got up from the floor, and picked her up again and threw her into the baby's bouncy chair,” according to an arrest affidavit that the New York Post obtained. “While she was still on the floor pleading for him to stop, he picked her up and body-slammed her onto a baby walker, causing the object to break,” it went on to say.
Following his arrest on Thursday, Stacy was charged with aggravated battery and criminal mischief. He was then taken to the Orange County Jail for processing. If convicted on all charges, he will face a minimum of 15 years in jail.
On Friday, Stacy appeared in court. He was also ordered to surrender his passport before being released. A judge told the former football player that he would be held in Orange County Jail until he can surrender his passport – which were allegedly locked in his vehicle all the way in Tennessee.
According to TMZ, Stacy mentioned that a friend could probably access the passport and send it to him via mail so that he could turn it over to the court and be released.
The judge also said that when the court receives the passport, Stacy will have to post a bond worth $10,150.
