Poll: Most Americans Believe Trump Would’ve Won in 2020 if Voters Knew About Hunter Biden’s Laptop
Most Americans believe former President Donald Trump would have won back in 2020 if the contents of Hunter Biden’s laptop had been revealed to voters, according to a poll published by Technometrica Institute of Policy and Politics on Wednesday.
According to the poll, 74% of Americans say the FBI misled the public when it alleged that the issue with Hunter Biden’s laptop was simply “disinformation.”
On Thursday, Mark Zuckerberg, Meta (Facebook) founder and CEO, said that the FBI had warned the social media company about an imminent slew of “Russian propaganda prior to the spread of the Hunter Biden laptop issue. This resulted in the story being shared less on Facebook.
As per the poll, the amount of distribution that has been reduced significantly impacted the presidential election in 2020.
Americans were asked whether they “agreed or disagreed the electorate did not have access to information that could have been critical to their decision at the polls.” To this, 78% agreed, while 12% disagreed.
Up to 15 media personalities alleged that the Hunter Biden email was likely a form of Russian propaganda. Additionally, numerous media outlets cited Politico’s now-debunked article, which had enumerated the beliefs of 51 officials that the laptop fiasco was Russian propaganda. However, the intel letter that the said news outlet reported suggested the opposite.
Apart from this, the poll revealed that 79% of the respondents said that a “truthful” interpretation of the laptop story would have caused a different outcome for the 2020 elections. Meanwhile, 51% said the media coverage of the Hunter Biden laptop was between poor to failing, while 30% believed it to be good to excellent.
