The lead of a Republican candidate over a Democrat on the generic congressional ballot goes down to four points, as per a Rasmussen Reports poll published on Friday.

The 2022 midterm election is less than two months away, in which the GOP is trying to retake congressional control. However, as per a Rasmussen Reports poll, 46% of possible U.S. voters would elect a Republican, while 42% said they would vote for a Democrat.

Additionally, 4% also said that they would elect another candidate, while 7% were unsure.

While Republicans are leading on the generic ballot all year, this four-point lead comes less than 60 days before the midterm election. Nevertheless, there is still time for the generic ballot to swing either way before November.

This recent poll by Rasmussen Reports was conducted between September 4 and 8. It had 2,500 respondents who are likely U.S. voters. The said survey also had a 2% margin of error with a 95% confidence level.
