Senate GOP Re-Election Raised $7.2 Million Last Month For Majority Push
The National Republican Senatorial Committee or NRSC has managed to raise $7.2 million last month. The re-election arm of the Senate GOP continues to build resources as it tries to regain the majority in the midterm elections in 2022.
As per NRSC figures they shared with Fox News on Tuesday, there is an influx of grassroots donors contributing for the first time in small amounts, usually less than $200. These contributions accounted for $3.4 million, more than half of the NRSC’s fundraising haul.
Additionally, the committee said that more than $15 million. This makes up half of the amount it raised so far in 2021, came from online donors.
The NRSC also said it has over $14.2 million cash on hand and zero debt.
Sen. Rick Scott of Florida, who serves as the NRSC chair, said that the grassroots enthusiasm and support prevent the socialist agenda from the Democratic party from becoming the country’s mainstream.
Additionally, pointing to the surge in first-time contributors in April, Scott said that it proves people in the country are ready to reject many of the plans from Biden, Sen. Chuck Schumer, and other Senate Democrats.
The re-election arm of the Senate GOP also said that the $7.2 million they managed to raise in April 2021 outpaced the $4.5 million that the NRSC collected in April 2019.
Meanwhile, the NRSC’s rival, the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, has not released their fundraising figures for April. However, in March, they reported collecting almost $9.3 million. While the DSCC collected more in March compared to the NRSC, it still has around $15 million in debt.
Both the Republicans and Democrats have managed to raise a lot of money prior to the 2022 midterm elections, but the latter will still be defending the small edge they have in the Senate.
