On Tuesday, Starbucks Corporation said it will be adding plant-based food and beverages to menus across Asia. These include products from Impossible Foods, Oatly, and Beyond Meat Inc.

Independent has reported that starting this month, Starbucks will introduce two new plant-based beverages to eight markets. These include the Oatmilk Cocoa Macchiato and Almondmilk Hazelnut Latte.

The coffee chain said it was “introducing products in markets such as Hong Kong, Singapore, New Zealand, Taiwan and Thailand that suit local tastes and preferences,” reported Fox Business.

“We’re thrilled to offer our customers more ways to personalize their Starbucks Experience and enjoy plant-based choices at Starbuck [sic],” said Sara Trilling, president of Starbucks Asia Pacific.

“This menu expansion is designed to offer our customers the same flavors and handcrafted service they know and love from Starbucks, in a new way,” she then stated. “We’re excited to continue our journey toward becoming resource positive together with our customers in Asia,” she also mentioned.

With the production of plant-based food and beverages, there will also be less demand on the environment.

The coffee chain started offering plant-based meals in Canada in February. According to Fox Business, this initiative also comes as Impossible Foods, Oatly, and Beyond Meat look to expand into Asia.
