Ted Cruz Will Run As An Independent

On Wednesday night, Ted Cruz gave his speech at the Republican National Convention. What started as cheers ended with boos as he was escorted off the stage and out of the stadium.

You see, he was called upon to make an endorsement of Donald Trump for the president of the United States. However, he instead told the crowd to vote their conscious and to vote for someone who will uphold the constitution.

Several Trump supporters have come and said that logically this means to go out and vote for Trump, because no matter what kind of conservative (or American for that matter) you are, he is clearly a better choice than Hillary.

But, if that is the case then why didn’t he just come out and say that. He could have stood there and said, Donald Trump was never my first choice, but in comparison to Hillary Clinton, he is the only choice.

Instead, Cruz said vote your conscious and someone who will defend the constitution. Why?

I think Ted Cruz is planning the craziest, most idiotic and worst decision dreamed up by a power hungry politician. I think he is planning on running as an independent.

If he does, he will come in a distant 3rd. Afterall, he couldn’t beat Donald Trump when it was just Republicans voting so he certainly won’t beat him in a general election. More importantly, he will give Hillary Clinton the White House.

He will turn Donald Trump’s almost certain victory into an absolute loss… All because of his ego.

If Ted Cruz runs as an independent he would destroy the Republican Party and set conservative issues back 20 years in this nation. All because he doesn’t want to wait 4 or 8 years.

After watching Wednesday’s speech he made it clear that he would rather Hillary Clinton win than be forced to accept a candidate for president that isn’t him. Make no mistake, Ted Cruz would have done this to any single other candidate that won the nomination. He is power hungry, egotistical, and ruthless.

We must put an end to Ted Cruz and his dirty politics. Most importantly we must remember that this is who he truly is.

It will be a great test of the American conservative to see if we can collectively ignore an upstart and unite behind a strong candidate capable of winning. Sadly, I don’t have a lot of faith in us passing that test.

Maybe I’m wrong and maybe I have judged Ted Cruz too harshly, but he will run again in 2020, even if Donald is in the White House. We must never forget the kind of man he is or where his loyalties lie.

I pray that I am wrong.
