The American Dream: One Brick At A Time
- It looks like if Trump is elected his “border wall,” will be a thing of reality.
- The Platform Committee has been working on an amendment to make the border wall a reality.
- The final draft of the platform will be finished on Monday and then presented to the Republican National Convention as well as the presidential nominee.
Trump is a man of structure…literally. His “Trump Towers” are everywhere and are quite the site to see. Yet now, the Republican Party Platform has just greenlit Trump's greatest structure yet, the southern wall.
This week the Platform Committee approved the “Trump Wall Plan” to use for debate. They have already begun constructing the platform and used such language as “construction of a physical barrier” on our “vulnerable borders.”
Yet, like any political discussion, people complained that a “physical barrier,” could be anything. That could be a velvet rope you see outside of nightclubs. It could be a white-picket fence. It could be a chainlink fence. The delegates who constructed the platform agreed, so now instead of the platform reading “construction of a physical barrier,” it reads simply “construction of a wall.”

The border wall amendment to the platform was one that Kobach pushed for, and succeeded in getting. Kobach said, “The border wall needs to be a real wall, not a fake ‘wall’ consisting of sensors in the ground. The American people have been wanting this for years. If Mr. Trump is elected, it will finally happen.”
The platform will be fully adapted with the border wall amendment on Monday. The next step is to then present it to the full Republican National Convention and the presidential nominee himself.
