  • A Chicago couple looked back through their security footage to find that a burglar in white and broken into their home.
  • He has been named the “Creeper Ghost.”
  • He moved so silently that he didn't even wake up the dogs that were sleeping at the feet of the homeowners.

When you think of Chicago, the last thing that passes through your mind is ghosts. You think of the accent or all the old mafia movies that you watched as a kid. Not ghosts. Well, the Chicago residences Jordan Buranskas and Jack Mackercher would have agreed with you. Yet, when they looked through their surveillance footage of the house, they changed their minds.

As most stories begin, Jordan had lost her purse. Which as all the women out there know can be a common occurrence, and like most men, Jack was not being helpful to the finding of it. Of course, the situation then erupted into a fight.

Jordan told WLS-TV, “We actually got into a little bit of an argument about it. He thought I left it at the restaurant the night before.”

So, the conclusion they came to was to look through the surveillance footage that they have hooked up in the house. Maybe, then, they would be able to see the last place that she put her purse. Needless to say, they found the purse.

The footage went forward without as much as a hiccup and then at 3:30 am on Monday morning, they found something they didn't expect. A white figure appeared at the top of the stairs.

“I’m like, ‘Why are you at the top of the stairs wearing a white hoodie before we went to bed?’ She’s like, ‘I wasn’t at the top of the stairs. So that’s when you go flush and start to freak out a little bit,” Jake said to WLS-TV.

A man had entered their home through an unlocked door. You can see him at the top of the stairs staring down at the two who had fallen asleep on the couch on the floor below.

Jordan said, “He stood there for about 5 minutes the first time then walked away, then came back and hovered over us again for another 5 minutes.”

The suspect has been named the “Creeper Ghost,” who is apparently responsible for a string of neighborhood heists. He does the name “Ghost” justice. He had reportedly moved through the house so silently that he didn't even wake up the dogs that were sleeping at Jordan and Jake's feet.

Thankfully authorities have some evidence now of the “Creeper Ghost,” and perhaps this video may be the first steps to capturing the friendly neighborhood ghost.
