Trump, DeSantis Scheduled to Appear in New Hampshire on the Same Day
Next Tuesday is when both Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former President Donald Trump are expected to make separate appearances in New Hampshire.
Next week, there are events planned for both Republican presidential contenders in the early primary state. DeSantis is allegedly holding a town hall meeting in Hollis, New Hampshire, on Tuesday. He has already toured the state extensively since declaring his candidacy last month.
The 76th Lilac Luncheon of the New Hampshire Federation of Republican Women will be held in Concord on the same day, and Trump is scheduled to attend as a special guest.
“A New Hampshire political tradition since 1944, the Lilac Luncheon is the signature event of the New Hampshire Federation of Republican Women, known for its top notch featured guests and rich history tied to New Hampshire’s historic First in the Nation Primary,” a brief summary of the event reads.
It adds:
The unique traditions of the Lilac Luncheon, which include raffling off lilacs from the Governor’s Lilac and Wildflower Commission, have been passed down from one generation to the next – making the highly anticipated Lilac Luncheon unlike any other Republican event.
Incidentally, Concord is about 40 miles away from Hollis, where DeSantis is hosting his rally.
DeSantis has already made one trip to New Hampshire since formally announcing his candidacy for president. He has also made trips to South Carolina, Iowa, and other early primary states.
During his most recent visit to the Granite State, the presidential hopeful got into a heated argument with Associated Press reporter Steve Peoples after the reporter questioned why the governor did not take questions from voters during the actual event.
DeSantis was socializing with the attendees of the event when the reporter asked, “Governor, how come you’re not taking questions from voters?” DeSantis claimed that because voters were constantly approaching him, he was now speaking to them extremely clearly.
“Are you blind?” DeSantis snapped. “Are you blind?”
“I’m not blind,” Peoples replied.
“Okay, so people are coming up to me, talking to me [about] whatever they want to talk about,” DeSantis added.
The New Hampshire Journal-Coefficient conducted a post-arrest poll that found Trump dominating the GOP field in the Granite State by 34 points with 47 percent support, with DeSantis trailing with 13 percent.
