House Republicans’ attempts to get both Ukraine whistleblower and Adam Schiff to testify for the House impeachment hearings were supported by President Trump. Trump tweeted, “Where is the Whistleblower who gave so much false information? Must testify along with Schiff and others!” However, Schiff communicated that he would not follow through.

Rep. Devin Nunes requested for the Ukraine whistleblower and Hunter Biden to be witnesses for the public hearings. The whistleblower is alleged to be Eric Ciaramella – former Ukraine director for the National Security Council during part of the Obama administration. According to Washington Examiner, he is now the deputy national intelligence officer for Russia and Eurasia on the National Intelligence Council.

In a report by The Daily Mail, Schiff rejected the demands for the whistleblower to testify as it would be “redundant and unnecessary.”
