Trump Wants to Declassify Everything

President Donald Trump wants to declassify everything, as he raised concerns that the Department of Justice withheld information about Hunter Biden. The younger Biden is  Joe Biden’s second son and is a target of an ongoing investigation on a possible tax case.

Trump is apparently miffed at Justice Secretary William Barr for not publicizing the Hunter Biden case prior to the elections. While Barr made the decision out of deference to a department rule that does not allow overt actions that can influence the elections. However, Trump may have felt that this decision ultimately cost him the elections.

During the weekend, Trump had a tweet exchange with conservative analyst Todd Starnes, where the latter said “At this point, @realDonaldTrump should declassify everything. Everything.” Trump responded to the tweet by writing: “I have been doing this. I agree!”

Hunter Biden Investigation

A Politico report said that “In addition to Delaware, the securities fraud unit in the Southern District of New York also scrutinized Hunter Biden’s finances, according to the person with direct knowledge of the investigation. The person said that, as of early last year, investigators in Delaware and Washington were also probing potential money laundering and Hunter Biden’s foreign ties.”

Hunter Biden acknowledged last week that he is under investigation over tax returns and possible unreported income. There are questions about Biden’s deals made abroad, where he made deals in China and sat at the board of a gas and oil company in Ukraine.

Firing Barr

In a Friday meeting when Trump found out about Barr’s decision to withhold the Biden investigation, he thought of firing the attorney general. He did suggest through his tweets the next day that he might make everything public. Not just with Hunter Biden, but also with Barr.

“IF Biden gets in, nothing will happen to Hunter or Joe,” Trump posted. “Barr will do nothing, and the new group of partisan killers coming in will quickly kill it all.” “Same thing with Durham. We caught them cold, spying, treason & more (the hard part), but ‘Justice’ took too long. Will be DOA!” he said. Durham refers to US Attorney John Durham, who wasn’t able to conclude his investigation. He tried to determine if the Obama administration tried to set him up with the Russians in 2016.

While it was unclear what trump wanted to declassify, he did think about creating special investigations. One is on Hunter Biden’s tax issues. Another would be on claims of widespread voter fraud. And, finally an investigation into William Barr as well. Barr told the media last week that the DOJ didn't find any concerted efforts to upend the votes.

Supreme Court Says No To Texas Lawsuit

Trump’s Saturday tirade likely resulted from the Supreme Court denial of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton’s lawsuit. This is the suit that wanted to nullify the election results from four states who voted for Biden. With this latest blow, the Supreme Court effectively placed a period on any further attempts to overturn the election.

He tweeted on Saturday that the fight continues: “So, you’re the President of the United States, and you just went through an election where you got more votes than any sitting President in history, by far – and purportedly lost. You can’t get ‘standing’ before the Supreme Court, so you ‘intervene’ with wonderful states that, after careful study and consideration, think you got ‘screwed’, something which will hurt them also,” Trump tweeted early Saturday morning. “Many others likewise join the suit but, within a flash, it is thrown out and gone, without even looking at the many reasons it was brought. A Rigged Election, fight on!”

He reiterated his stand by tweeting: “I WON THE ELECTION IN A LANDSLIDE, but remember, I only think in terms of legal votes, not all of the fake voters and fraud that miraculously floated in from everywhere! What a disgrace!” He then proceeded to complain against two Republican governors, Georgia’s Brian Kemp and Arizona’s Doug Ducey. He tagged them as RINOs (Republican in Name Only) and called for their ouster. Afterward, he turned his ire on Bill Barr, where he proceeded to say he wants to declassify everything.
