United Kingdom police officers found 25 adults and children having a party “with speakers and karaoke” amid the coronavirus outbreak.

Derby police posted on Twitter: “Group 1 Officers have just attended an address in absolute shock to find 25 adults and children having a massive party with speakers and karaoke. Everyone dispersed and hosts dealt with. It is clear people are still having complete disregard for the Government advice and rules.”

The tweet included images of speakers and a table full of food and drinks.

Fox News explains that Prime Minister Boris Johnson “ordered all nonessential businesses closed and banned gatherings for three weeks in an effort to contain the rapidly-spreading virus.”

The New York Post reported that the Derbyshire police were assailed last week after they released drone footage of people in pairs walking about. “Former justice secretary David Gauke had described the video’s release as ‘badly misjudged’ and pointed out the people seen in the footage were maintaining a social distance,” said the report.

Police Superintendent Steve Pont said: “We wanted to reinforce the message of stay home and a number of people aren’t staying home, they’re finding excuses or loopholes — and we just wanted to illustrate that this is the wrong thing to do.”

The UK currently has 25,474 confirmed cases with 1,793 deaths and 179 recoveries – according to the Center for Systems Science and Engineering (CSSE) at Johns Hopkins University.
