U.S. Marshals Find 27 Missing Children During “Operation Find Our Children”

U.S. Marshals found 27 missing children after they conducted a rescue operation in Virginia.

Fox News reported that “Operation Find Our Children,” which is a five-day law enforcement effort, “was the latest in a series of operations led by the U.S. Marshals Service that helped to reunite hundreds of endangered and missing children with their legal guardians this year.”

“The Department of Justice is dedicated to protecting the most vulnerable children in our society and ‘Operation Find Our Children’ does just that,” said Deputy Attorney General Jeffrey A. Rosen in a news release by the DOJ.

The operation has also “confirmed the location of six additional children previously reported as missing but subsequently discovered by the U.S. Marshals Service as being in the custody of their legal guardian,” the report then added.

“While this Virginia operation is the most recent recovery of endangered and missing children led by the U.S. Marshals Service this year, we have also recovered more than 440 kids in Georgia, Ohio, Indiana, Louisiana and other states. Because of this initiative, the recovered children are now out of harm’s way,” Rosen added.

Nick E. Proffitt, U.S. Marshal for the Eastern District of Virginia, said he “can think of no more critical or satisfying mission for a law enforcement officer, than rescuing an endangered child.”

According to Fox News, more than 60 investigators were in the primary team led by U.S. Marshals from the Eastern and Western Districts of Virginia.
