An Air Force plane crashed in eastern Afghanistan on Monday. The plane reportedly had “less than five onboard.”

According to Fox News, “it was not immediately clear if there were any survivors and officials said there are no indications that the plane – an E-11A – was shot down.” The report added that the plane is the military version of the civilian Bombardier Global Express business jet. According to Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid, the plane crashed in the Ghazni province, which sits in the foothills of the Hindu Kush mountains.

While the cause of crash is under investigation, there are no indications the crash was caused by enemy fire. We will provide additional information as it becomes available,” Col.
