A membership program is not the only new thing with Walmart.

Walmart has announced last week that it will be installing breastfeeding pods for customers and employees at 100 of its U.S. locations.

“In time for National Breastfeeding Month this August, Walmart and Mamava announced plans to install Mamava lactation suites into more than 100 Walmart stores this year, further extending breastfeeding support to associates and customers,” the announcement reads.

The lactation suites or pods are “freestanding spaces that provide a clean, comfortable and private option to breastfeed or pump.” The pods can be used for free and accessed through the Mamava app. The app opens the pod and allows users to make customizations such as lighting and airflow. Users can also leave digital notes of encouragement for other moms.

“We started Mamava to ensure that every breastfeeding mother could choose whether or not to breastfeed, so we set out to remove all barriers to making that choice,” says Sascha Mayer, the CEO and co-founder of Mamava.

Julie Murphy, Walmart U.S.’s EVP of People, said “there is nothing else like the Mamava pod.”

“We strongly believe in what Mamava is doing to support moms and the experience the pods help create. We are very excited to provide this for moms who work and shop at our stores,” she then added.
