World War II Veteran Carried to His Seat at Trump Rally Dies at 100

World War II veteran, Ervin Julian, who became viral after being carried to his seat during a rally for President Trump in Phoenix last February, has passed away. He was 100 years old.

His son, Steven Julian, said that Julian died last Thursday. A video on Twitter shows two men carrying the veteran down a flight of stairs at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Coliseum during a Trump rally on February 19th.

“This happened at the @realDonaldTrump rally in Phoenix,” tweeted Fox 10's Kari Lake on February 20th. “Lots of teamwork here. These men carrying a World War II veteran to his seat. Got to admit I got a lump in my throat,” Lake then added.

On August 5th, Lake retweeted her post from February with the caption: “I just got word that Ervin Julian, the World War II veteran seen in this video getting a helping hand to his seat, passed away last week. What a life! We’re losing so many of our amazing WWII heroes. Each one appreciated for their contribution to this country. Rest In Peace, sir.”

Fox News reported that after the rally, Steven Julian told “Fox & Friends” host Steve Doocy that he just wanted to do something special for his father.

“So, I was going to go after I got the credentials to get VIP seating, and that's … where it all started,” he also told Doocy.

Trump later recognized Julian, saying: “He might be even hotter than Trump right now, I have to say.” He then said, “I want to thank you, really. That's a great honor and thank you for the great job you've done, an American patriot, thank you very much.”

Julian will be buried at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.

“My father was a great man. I mean, as Trump said, he was a world-class celebrity and a great hero,” his son Steven also mentioned.
