Obamacare Is A Cancer
- On Friday President Barack Obama vetoed a bill that would have killed the affordable care act and cut federal funding for Planned Parenthood.
- The Bill marks the first time in over 60 votes that Republican lawmakers have landed a bill to kill the act on the president's desk
- Speaker Ryan stated that this was a landmark bill because, even though Obama vetoed it, a Republican president won't.
Washington (CNN) President Barack Obama on Friday vetoed legislation that would have repealed the Affordable Care Act and cut federal funding for Planned Parenthood.
The bill goes back to the Republican-led Congress, which does not have the votes to override the veto.
Obama's veto was expected, but it marks the first time Republicans have been able to get a bill that would repeal his signature health care law to the White House, after more than 60 votes to roll back all or part of the law.
In his veto message, Obama stressed the number of times congressional Republicans have tried to “repeal or undermine the Affordable Care Act.”

“Rather than re-fighting old political battles by once again voting to repeal basic protections that provide security for the middle class, members of Congress should be working together to grow the economy, strengthen middle-class families, and create new jobs,” Obama wrote.
“Because of the harm this bill would cause to the health and financial security of millions of Americans, it has earned my veto,” he added.
The measure would also have barred federal money for Planned Parenthood, something conservatives in Congress vowed to do after a series of videos released by an anti-abortion group last year triggered a controversy about the sale of fetal tissue. Planned Parenthood maintains the footage was edited and denied any improper activity.
House Speaker Paul Ryan pledged to hold an override vote.
“It's no surprise that someone named Obama vetoed a bill repealing Obamacare,” Ryan said in a statement.
“But here's the thing. The idea that Obamacare is the law of the land for good is a myth. This law will collapse under its own weight, or it will be repealed. Because all those rules and procedures Senate Democrats have used to block us from doing this? That's all history,” he added. “We have now shown that there is a clear path to repealing Obamacare without 60 votes in the Senate. So, next year, if we're sending this bill to a Republican president, it will get signed into law.”

Because as Obamacare needed money to operate, citizens like us with Medicare lost billions of dollars that we contributed to build during the years we worked. Now services are denied because Medicare is going to bankrupt.
Obamacare is a cancer to those who have to rely on reasonable fees or immediate medical attention. The monthly dues continue to rise for citizens who cannot afford it. It was a lie that if we want to keep our Doctor we can….FALSE!

I don’t understand how anyone could condemn a health care program that benefits people who could not other wise afford health care. Don’t you guys understand when people without health care go to the emergency room the cost of that is paid by everyone. The hospitals do not absorb the cost of unpaid care, the tax payer does. Primary care physicians cost a quarter of emergency care. There fore ACA makes sense for the people, and sense for the country. But you are so tie to a principle, and blinded by a political platform, that works against your own self interest that it’s almost comic
Everyone without health care spread germs to the rest of us. I don’t blame them, I sympathise with them They can’t afford to take the time off, if they did they would lose money they need for their families/or their employer would probably sack them

Rosemary, you need to understand that when the people who couldn’t afford it before and now they get the healthcare, someone is paying for it and it is all of us again. Plus, the healthcare of the ones who had it before, well now they lost theirs and can’t afford the new rates that were raised. Even insurance companies are leaving the program because they say they are not making enough money. It is all greed on the part of insurance companies and the idiot who is trying to run this country and doesn’t know how. More people who had insurance coverage lost their coverage when Obamacare came in effect than the ones who couldn’t afford it and are now insured. I know some people who were ecstatic about it because now that they are on ACA, they pay $100/month. I agree that insurance should not refused to take people who had health problems before or raise their rates for them and that could have become a law but now force people to take insurance that they don’t want or need. You need to see both sides. We already have programs for poor people and they get great insurance from the Government, better sometimes than what hard-working citizens get from their work. It should be improved instead of having that plan and the ACA. They should raise their maximum earnings so more people could be on it for example, instead of people who make $15K a year which is ridiculous. Democrats only see their way and refuse to study all the different ways that things could be done and improved. They are blind to anything else out there.

Well I’m sure, I’m not the only person with positive notes on ObomaCare. Well where to start, last year 2015 the hospital called for follow up MRI for a back surgery my out of pocket cost $50 my girlfriend had the same procedure $ 700 through her insurance . Where I’m going with is that they found another while reading he results from the MRI and found Cancer in my right kidney my deductible was another $50 for hospital stay. So my total charges for a Kidney removal was whopping $100. God knows what she would have paid out of her pocket. So I’ve got no complaints. Also this year my new plan, $1 for each prescription and $5 for Doctors Visit and $10 for Specialist . My Mother has Medicade and Goes brought monthly just in Co Pays and all of the prescriptions she fills monthly, and she only has an income of of about $1300 a month lives by here self, pays rent etc. All because she makes a few dollars over poverty. She can’t get ObomaCare!!! Why Not?

Had great insurance B4 Obama. Now I have crap for insurance. Can’t afford descent insurance and had to go with a co-op. Was told they paid 70/30% but they lied. On a recent trip to the hospital they only paid 10% and I had to come up with the estimated cost up front $4000.00. Now I have another procedure that needs to be done and it will be at least 4 times higher than this one. My problem is with my heart and there is no way for me to even begin to come up with the money. I work my butt off to make a living so I get no help with the high cost of insurance but at least my taxes help people sit on their asses and have free insurance. Thanks Obama from the walking dead.
This gigantic white elephant not only created a huge power grab and money grab by destroying the ability for insurance companies to compete it also destroyed the quality that hospitals could provide and your right to buy or not buy a policy!
My doctor has retired because of reg. My annual physical is now replaced by wellnes which is a limited exam. Difficult to get doctor appointments. My drug costs have gone up. Copays have gone up. etc etc

I agree because it is putting Doctors out of business. I know because my husband’s Dr. had to close the doors. He said he wasn’t seeing half the patients he used to because of all the additional paperwork caused by Obamacare. He also said that because of certain stiplations a person could only see certain Dr. most lost their own dr.’s plus their premiums were so high they could not afford them.
In his earliest speeches it sounded like he came here to destroy America and he’s done a relly good job of it. He said he went to college on a Fullbright scholarship and those are never given to US citizens. Another lie?

If you believe that a single payer healthcare system is the way to go, you do not realize that a single payer system is run by the government and is a socialist system. Only a free market system will work. We have to have every insurance company operating nation wide to bring the price back down to a reasonable level.
Check history and you will find that every country that has a socialized health system equals high costs and a better chance of dying early in life and long wait times for care. This country is about freedom not a country that dictates how the people must live.

This so called affordable Health Care was forced upon the American citizen with no real regard for the people. This is an intrusive federal measure that takes from most and gives to cronies, not needy individuals, that is growing into unheard of financial problems with little care being provided.
