Doctor Says Epstein Autopsy Consistent With Homicide
Jeffrey Epstein, disgraced money man and sex offender, was found dead in his federal prison cell in Manhattan in August. According to a pioneering forensic pathologist, his body presented signs of homicide despite the official ruling that he committed suicide. This claim by Dr. Michael Baden is certain to “reignite suspicions that surfaced immediately after Epstein, who was awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges involving underage girls, was discovered dead in his cell on August 10.”
Baden explains that the findings are more coherent with homicidal strangulation than suicidal hanging. These findings include two fractures on the left and right sides of Epstein’s larynx and one fracture on the left hyoid bone above the Adam’s apple. Baden adds that those fractures are greatly unusual in suicidal hangings.

Baden, who has worked on cases involving President John F. Kennedy, Martin Luther King, and many others, said “I’ve not seen in 50 years where that occurred in a suicidal hanging case.” Baden also explained that “if a person weighed 120 pounds and their head weighed 10 pounds, there would be 110 pounds of pressure on the neck at the jaw during a hanging. But, if someone put a hand around a person's neck and squeezed, that could double or even triple the pressure on the neck.”
It is almost important to note Baden’s vital finding: “The prominent hemorrhage in the soft tissues of the neck next to the fractures is evidence of a fresh neck compression that could have caused the death.”
Despite Baden’s detailed findings, however, he stressed that the investigation is not yet complete until all the information has come in.
