Apple Marina Bay Sands, World’s First Floating Apple Store, to Open Soon
The world’s first floating Apple retail store is now in Singapore.
The shop is located on the city-state’s waterfront and is officially known as Apple Marina Bay Sands. It is Singapore's third Apple Store.
While Apple’s global retail network is affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, “that hasn’t stopped the company from indulging in its penchant for pricey-looking, unique, and outlandish exterior design,” reported The Verge.
“We will soon open the doors to our new store by the Bay. Apple Marina Bay Sands will be at the heart of creativity, a place we’ve made for you to capture your ideas and passions,” Apple said on its website. “It will be a space for you to explore, connect and create something new. We can’t wait to see where your imagination takes you.”
During the day, the store looks like a spacecraft or “some form of futuristic theater,” described The Verge. At night, however, “the store really comes alive and you can tell the company clearly designed it as an evening fixture best viewed in the dark.”
According to Fox Business, health and safety measures at the store will be the same as those at other locations, as it will also follow sanitation requirements, limited store occupancy, and the wearing of masks.
