President Joe Biden's popularity rating continues to head down. Right now, the Democrat president’s approval rating stands at a new low of 36%. In contrast, his disapproval rating is 53%. These are some of the results of a new Quinnipiac University national poll taken earlier this month.

The new Quinnipiac survey, taken November 11-15,  showed that President Joe Biden's popularity rating took a dive. It’s now at 36%, which is a record low since the Democrat took his seat at the White House last January. In contrast, his disapproval rating is 53% or more than half of all Americans.

Expectedly, a huge partisan divide exists between Democrat and Republican respondents to the survey. Biden enjoys approval from 87% of Democrats, while only 7% said they disapprove.

Meanwhile, Republicans gave Biden a popularity rating of only 4%, with an overwhelming 94% not in favor of the President nor his policies.

Among independents, only 29% approve of Biden. 56% showed their dissatisfaction with his handling of the US.

Other Surveys Show Biden With Higher Popularity Rating

A separate national poll conducted from November 1 to 10 showed Biden in a less harsh light. The Marquette University Law School survey reported that 49% of respondents approved the way the President is handling the nation’s issues.

51% said they disapprove of the President’s actions. This meant Biden’s approval went down by nine points since the last July poll.

Meanwhile, a Real Clear Politics survey also showed Biden with a 41% popularity rating. In addition, 53% disapproved of the President’s handling of his job.

Back to the Quinnipiac poll, Biden lost approval in four key issues that continued to hound his administration. The president scored 45% approval and 50% disapproval on how he handled the COVID-19 pandemic.

He also scored 41% approval and 48% disapproval on climate change. Then, it gets lower. On the economy, Biden managed a paltry 34% approval while getting a 59% disapproval rating.

Even worse, Biden failed at foreign policy, receiving 33% approval and 55% disapproval ratings.

All Time Low

Quinnipiac University polling analyst Tim Malloy told the media that while unsettling, Biden’s numbers are still better than expected.

“The President’s numbers are unsettling though slightly better than former President Trump’s approval at the same stage of his presidency,”  he said.

Malloy pointed out the damning parts of the survey. He said that overall satisfaction is at an all-time low. In addition, more than 50% of respondents say they are “very dissatisfied” with the President.

Within a month, Biden’s popularity rating in his handling of the economy went down 5 points since October. From 39% approval, that number is now down to 35%.

In particular, 52% of Americans believe that Biden is not honest, while only 41% trust him. However, 57% believe that the President does not possess good leadership skills. Only 37% think that he does.

Good Luck On the Midterm Elections

With this kind of popularity rating numbers, Democrats are in trouble hanging on to the majority in both the House and the Senate.

This makes next year’s midterm elections a wild race. The House will elect its entire 435 members. Meanwhile. Around 33% of Senate seats will be up for grabs as well.

What do you think is the reason for the President’s continued drop in popularity? Can his team still fix what’s broken by the time the election arrives?
