Biden’s Public Support for Gun Control Takes Nose Dive

It seems the public support for Biden’s gun control agenda is plummeting. Most people in America believe his policies need some adjustment.

In a couple of polls that rolled out last week, only one-third of the public agreed with Biden’s gun policies. According to a poll conducted by Quinnipiac University, only 34% of the respondents approve of the president’s gun agenda. Conversely, 49% disapproved. Meanwhile, The Economist and YouGov’s poll also showed 34% approving of the president’s performance, with 47% of the respondents disapproving.

The approval ratings on the way Biden handles the gun control issue are about 14 points lower in the two polls enumerated above, compared to the one by Associated Press and the University of Chicago, which was conducted at the start of May.

The gun legislation that the president has put forward includes a universal background check and a ban and registration plan for AR-15s. However, he has experienced a lack of support in Congress, mostly by moderate Democrats. So, Biden has decided to make efforts in redefining the definition of a firearm so that he could also ban “ghost guns” and put more restrictions on guns that have pistol braces.”

Now, it seems that the public support for Biden’s gun control efforts has seen a downward trend. The recent Quinnipiac poll serves as his second-lowest in connection to guns. Meanwhile, the aforementioned poll by the Economist is his lowest compared to any other issue.
