According to Aleksander Kwasniewski, a former Polish president and on the board of Burisma, Hunter Biden was chosen to join the advisory board because of his name. Despite this, Kwasniewski said that Biden was an active board member who helped the company. He added that Biden never used his relationship with his father to further the interests of the company.

Hunter Biden was on the board from 2014 to 2019, and Joe Biden was vice president from 2008 to 2016. According to The Epoch Times, “a number of witnesses in the impeachment inquiry have expressed concerns about possible conflict of interest.”

A report by Fox News added that “Kwasniewski also said Burisma members never tried to use Hunter Biden to curry favor with the administration of Barack Obama when Joe Biden was vice president.” Kwasniewski said that Biden was a “normal member of this group” and they didn’t ask him, and he never said anything, about his father. Biden would only be asked at dinners how his father was doing. Kwasniewski said Biden never used his father's name to get ahead on the advisory board.

Kwasniewski said that Biden brought a unique American perspective into Burisma, “including in the areas of corporate governance, capital markets and gas-drilling equipment, where Americans are world leaders,” said Fox News. Kwasniewski added that Biden was useful as he knew something they didn’t know.
