Carnival Cruise Line said on Thursday that it will be notifying guests and travel agents that all trips from U.S. homeports in November and December have been canceled. This excludes Miami and Port Canaveral.

The company said in a news release that this is “following the U.S. Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) decision to extend its no-sail order for cruise operations.”

The news release added that operations from Miami and Port Canaveral in the next two months are still uncertain. Meanwhile, “Carnival is focusing its initial return to service from those two homeports, whenever that might occur.”

“As we have said throughout this pause, our return to operations will be gradual and phased in,” said Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy. While they avoid making presumptions, she said that once they can offer, “cruises we will center our initial start-up from the homeports of Miami and Port Canaveral.”

Guests who booked cruises in November and December out of Miami and Port Canaveral may voluntarily cancel their reservation. If they do, they will receive the same offer as other guests.

“The health and safety of our guests, crew and communities we serve remain the cornerstone of our plans and decisions. The patience and support of our guests and travel agent partners have been a huge motivation to our team as we have worked through this unprecedented situation and we are dedicated to getting back to operations when the time is right.”
