The Chinese Communist Party(CCP) has done its best to convince the world that the country has beaten the coronavirus outbreak, but mounting evidence tells a different story.

China issued a new lockdown order for one of its central county’s on Tuesday as the government races to contain a potential second wave of cases.

The order affects roughly 600,000 residents near the city of Piingdingshan in Jia County. Jia is located in the Henan province, roughly 500 miles to the south of Beijing. The county lies immediately to the north of the Hubei province; which includes the outbreak’s epicenter city of Wuhan.

Affected residents need special permits to leave their homes, and government forces on standing by to check temperatures and ensure travelers wear facemasks, according to the South China Sun. Residents must have special permission to travel to work, and vehicle travel is restricted to an alternating-daily schedule that’s based on license plate numbers.

One official told a Chinese newspaper, “It’s better not to come to Jia county now. Nobody can enter or leave.”

China has been boasting about its containment of the virus for the past several weeks. Just a few days ago, China’s state-backed media reported zero new cases and told the world everything was under control.

However, the lockdown in Jia County indicates the CCP doesn’t have as tight a grip on the outbreak as they’d like the world to think.

The global medical community has criticized China for its lack of transparency almost from the start, but the accusations have heated up as of late.

Earlier in the week, three US intelligence agents told reporters from Bloomberg that China has been lying about the coronavirus from the beginning. The intelligence officers, who elected to remain anonymous for obvious reasons, say they are convinced that China has been purposely underreporting its numbers of patients and deaths since the outbreak began. The officers said they put their findings into a classified report and forwarded it to the White House.

Several U.S. officials have expressed doubt about China’s data, including President Trump. He told reporters at a recent press conference that China’s numbers seem “a little bit on the light side”, but he stopped short of making a public accusation.

Over the past few weeks, the Chinese Communist Party has launched a coordinated propaganda campaign to improve its global image. The party has shamelessly praised itself through its own state-backed media outlets, lauding its response to the virus.

Meanwhile, recently released economic reports touted the ‘resurgence’ of the Chinese economy after the country’s draconian lockdown restrictions were lifted. The CCP media blitz include extensive coverage of China’s generous donation of medical supplies to underdeveloped countries and the needy people of the world.

However, the recent lockdown and reports from US intelligence officials indicate that China’s reports haven’t been truthful.

If you’re buying what the Chinese Communist Party’s media outlets are selling, you might want to take a closer look at this regime’s track record for honesty.

The recent lockdown order in Jia County seems to directly contradict the Chinese government’s claims that the virus is totally under control. There’s a lot of evidence that indicates the reports of the country’s miraculous comeback have been greatly exaggerated.

American’s would be well-served to take any reports from China with a healthy does of skepticism because, at this point, it’s hard to believe anything that comes out of the CCP’s media mouthpiece.
