CNN Takes Nose Dive in Ratings by 67% After Trump Left the White House

Since January, when former President Donald Trump ended his term, CNN has seen a drop in ratings by almost 70%.

This proves how popular Trump was and how he was needed for CNN and other liberal news sources to become successful.

For primetime hours, which is between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. (EST), the news network lost more or less 65% of its viewership since January. Meanwhile, it lost 71% for the 25-54 age demographic, and this goes for both the day and for primetime hours.

The drop that CNN has experienced is bigger than many of its competitors. However, every major cable news shows also experienced ratings plummet. For one, MSNBC experienced the second-biggest drop in terms of viewership since January, losing 49%. It lost 63% of its viewers for the 25-54 age demographic. For primetime, MSNBC’s viewership dropped by 42% while 58% of its viewers were lost between 25 and 54.

On the other hand, Fox News’ ratings dropped the least out of all networks. It only lost 12% of its total viewers and only 15% for viewers in the 25-54 age demographic.

The show New Day on CNN is one of the networks’ programs that took a major hit in terms of ratings. The show experienced its least-watched week of the year so far, as it only had around 461,000 total viewers. Only 108,000 of the said viewers are in the critical age demographic of between 25 and 54. Additionally, the show averaged fewer than 500,000 viewers for the last four consecutive weeks.

In contrast, Fox News attained its 14th consecutive week of being in the number one spot for cable news viewers. It had 2.1 million viewers on primetime, while daytime hours see an average of 1.2 million viewers.
