Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah) says when it comes to Hillary Clinton and her private email server, “We can’t just simply let this go.”

“If the president or president-elect wants to pardon Secretary Hillary Clinton for the good of the nation, that is their option,” Chaffetz said on Fox News on Wednesday morning. “But I have a duty and an obligation to actually fix the problems that were made with Hillary Clinton.”

Chaffetz, who heads the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, added that just because the election is now over, the need to “get to the truth” doesn’t just go away.”

“There is the email-federal records issue, there’s the Clinton Foundation issue, there’s the perjury issue, there’s the fact that the State Department still has its own open investigation on classified material. There are tens of thousands of documents the State Department still has not turned over to the United States Congress that should be available. There’s issues relating to the Department of Justice,” Chaffetz said.

“I still think that the federal government needs to provide to Congress the records which we sought,” he added.

Throughout his campaign, Trump repeatedly said that Clinton “should be in jail” for her use of a private email server. After November 8, however, the president-elect changed his tune, saying he didn’t want to “hurt” the Clintons and would not pursue any further investigation.

To send the message no one is above the law. This isn’t about vengeance but following the law. If she is not prosecuted her case will bring argued to get a “get out of jail” card by others in the future. We must maintain law and order.
